NAACP African-American Cultural Technological and Scientific Olympics (ACT-SO) Program

Important Announcement from Dr. Diana Greene Superintendent Duval County Public Schools

"I am pleased to offer my support to the NAACP African-American Cultural Technological and Scientific Olympics (ACT-SO) Program.  As many of you know, this is a year-long program that provides an opportunity for African-American students to compete in a variety of academic and artistic areas.  These include STEM, Humanities, Business, Performing Arts, and Visual Arts.  In the past, our students have been very successful at both the local and national level.

Duval County Public Schools has been one of the sponsors of this event for a number of years, helping to ensure that those students who qualify for the national competition are able to travel to the event.  This year the national competition will be held in Boston from July 23-26.  Through this competition, students have the opportunity to meet other students in their areas of interest, showcase their work in front of expert judges, and earn scholarship money for their efforts."

Note the local competitions will be held Saturday March 28 from 8:00 am - 12:00 noon at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts.
