Courtney Chrestensen, known as "Ms. C," is a seasoned performer and music educator dedicated to inspiring young musicians. As the Associate Director of Orchestras at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts, she combines rigorous performance practice with a student-centered approach, developing innovative programs since 2019.
In addition to her role at Douglas Anderson, she serves as the Artistic Director for the Golden Isles Youth Orchestra summer programs and assists the Jacksonville Symphony Youth Orchestras, all while maintaining an active teaching studio. Her commitment to music education extends to community involvement, serving as the Florida Orchestra Association District Chair and a member of its Adjudication Committee.
Courtney holds dual Bachelor’s degrees in Music Performance and Music Education from Jacksonville University and has enhanced her expertise through prestigious workshops such as Juilliard's Starling DeLay Violin Symposium and Carnegie Hall's Music Educators Workshops.
A dedicated performer, Courtney frequently plays with the Jacksonville University Orchestra and freelances throughout Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia, including collaborations with the rock band Foreigner. Outside of music, she enjoys attending
